Reviewer Guidelines

1. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Thorough Evaluation: Provide an objective, detailed, and constructive assessment of the manuscript’s quality, originality, relevance, and clarity.
  • Timeliness: Complete the review within the agreed-upon timeframe (typically 2–3 weeks). Notify the editorial office promptly if a delay is unavoidable.
  • Confidentiality: Treat the manuscript and all related documents as strictly confidential. Do not share or discuss it with others outside the review process.
  • Conflict of Interest: Decline to review if there is a personal, professional, or financial conflict of interest that may compromise impartiality.

2. Ethical Standards

  • Objectivity and Fairness: Reviews must be unbiased and free from personal or professional criticism. Base evaluations solely on the academic merit of the work.
  • Respect for Authors: Offer feedback in a respectful, constructive tone. Suggest ways to improve the manuscript without discouraging the author.
  • Plagiarism & Misconduct: Inform the editor if you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical violations in the manuscript.

3. Review Content

Your review should include:

  • Summary of the Work: Briefly outline the scope, significance, and originality of the study.
  • Major Comments: Discuss key issues regarding the study’s design, methodology, data interpretation, and conclusions.
  • Minor Comments: Point out grammatical errors, unclear figures/tables, or formatting inconsistencies.
  • Recommendation: Provide a clear recommendation:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject

Each recommendation must be supported by clear reasoning.


4. Areas to Consider During Review

  • Is the research original and significant?
  • Are the methods appropriate and clearly described?
  • Are results accurately interpreted and supported by data?
  • Is the manuscript well-organized and clearly written?
  • Are references up-to-date and relevant?
  • Are ethical guidelines followed in research involving humans or animals?

5. Anonymity & Communication

  • Double-Blind Review: ISR Publisher follows a double-blind review process. Do not attempt to discover or disclose the identities of the authors.
  • Editorial Contact: Communicate only with the editorial office or handling editor regarding any questions or concerns about the review process.
